Well, see – that’s the problem. I already am the tech contact. And we’ve been using their login for the Roku’s ESPN app and History Channel, etc. They are wanting to trim that outrageous bill down. It’s either fix this now, or move them to the old folks home and eat up that tiny inheritance. LOL. And I’m scared to ask what THAT box is!!
🤣🤣🤣 that box is from olllld cable in the 80’s. I gave up all “IT” support long ago.. once you say yes to one task you’re IT for life!
Yep. I looked into it recently. I believe it is in larger cities – like Louisville, KY – but not in our area, about 2 hours away. I tried to sign up, but it shut me down. I’m definitely used to the phone, but parents not so much. They’re gonna need some training on this. And thanks! Hope to be around for a while.
Good to know and yea for parents who aren’t techy! They are better off staying old school or you become the point of contact when “MY TV DOESN’T WORK” 🙂
Working on this for mom and dad. (Me too, since we are using her dad’s login for ESPN, History Channel, etc. and he is looking to cut costs as well). Trying to decide between: Roku Stick (like the selection of apps, and this is the one we personally have), Amazon Fire (have Amazon Prime, but haven’t looked into it), Chromecast (again, haven’t looked into this yet), and not sure of any others. As for the Streaming TV: considering Sling (looks like it has a great selection), YouTubeTV is not offered in our area, and not sure of any others.
Ugh! I didn’t know YoutubeTV wasn’t available “everywhere”. It’s so easy and user friendly IF you are accustomed to using your cell phone regularly. I really like it a ton. BTW welcome to the forum!

Will fix asap, this theme is great for building websites, not so much for forums – I’m replacing this week, it will be a lot better
How do we delete posts, by the way? A few duplicates of mine have crept into the Chop War thread that didn’t “register” to begin with.
you should see a little icon above the post that says trash or delete? I am changing the skin out and adding featuires this week so these early bugs should all disappear
Not bad…i like the prices, a little skittish of the word “refurbished” though…! I like the name of the second company, Tyrrell, they made replicants in Blade Runner…lol…
Here at the office we use: Cutter Plotter: 64” Mutoh ValueJet Multi-Purpose Cutting Plotter
    • Custom cut out any shape, text or logo from printed or solid color adhesive vinyl
    • After the cutting is complete, the unwanted vinyl gets weeded away and transfer tape is applied to the wanted vinyl to help adhere the graphics to the desired substrate

There are smaller models all the way down to 24″ and they may be what you are looking for. Not sure we are using for the same application/end result as you.

Ya my moto z is 5.5, Erica just got the Pixel 2 XL almost but not quite 6. We were supposed to go smaller but smaller sucks!
Vizio 42″ TV as a monitor
The big viewing area is the key. Everyone is so hooked on their tiny phones and this terrible tiny Internet experience now… when you go big you never want to go back. Everything is better bigger… games, videos, research, asses — all the things!

Howdy and welcome! I have been into building websites since 1997 so if I can offer any advice let me know. I had also been playing games since Wolfenstein on my Commodore 64 🙂 but now the only games I play are with my son. Usually Minecraft. I recently started to tinker inside of PC’s as a result of resurrecting an old workstation for my son. If you would like to share what you are working on or have worked on I’d love to hear about it. I started a What is your current PC topic here https://www.michaelbakerdigital.com/forums/topic/whats-current-pc-mac-power/

    Enjoy!

AHHHH got it!! Thanks man! That explains the heat and why it was set to 667. I’ll maybe even buy a 2nd fan to take it down even more but it runs stable and is really speedy with 8 x 4gb sticks. This was the “last upgrade” for this old beast.
Make no mistake, I have to go into the office… With my kiddos in the background, no dynamat is going to cancel out that noise. LOL!
haha ya man I had to leave the home office because of the kid / baby combo – literally impossible to work from home! I still get stuff done but actual focused work is something that can only happen at an office

Awesome to reconnect!  It’s so cool to see some of the old names pop back in and to hear what everyone is up to in adult life. Remoting in, IT sounds like a good thing with kids – assuming you have a quiet place to do you thing!
