February 25, 2018 at 1:50 am #531Mike BakerKeymaster
Does anyone use one? I am looking at a Roland VersaStudio BN-20, but it has a price tag of about $8000.00, a little out of my budget. I want to be able to do one or two color window decals and full color decals/stickers, but I want to be able to do a dozen or two at a time. Thoughts…?
I work at an experiential marketing firm now with heavy focus on in-house printing/cutting/fabrication. I will ask on Monday. Take a look at the work we do:Â https://www.experiencepinpoint.com

February 25, 2018 at 1:47 am #530Mike BakerKeymasterIt’s an old BOXX. The motherboard is:Â http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon1333/5400/x7dwa-n.cfm
I don’t mind that it’s overclocked I just don’t want the thing to be dangerous. I think 60ish C is a good zone but to me it feels hot to the touch and makes me a bit uneasy. It was hot as fuck w/o that fan.

The light is money, I will start up a “show” again soon and instead of looking like “Dawn of the Dead” like my laptop webcam makes me look I will actually look well lit and a tiny bit professional 🙂

February 25, 2018 at 1:43 am #528Mike BakerKeymaster
Did something similar, cut all cable tv, phone, dvr from my internet bill. Between the bill & electricity saved (over $80.00 a month), I was saving close to $300.00 a month!
YoutubeTV $35/mo – no DVR charge, no cable box, remotes and all the other bullshit. Love it too – it’s not even a compromise it’s actually better

February 25, 2018 at 1:42 am #527Mike BakerKeymaster
We need our high speed internet as well, since both of us work from home. Our cable bill for tv alone is around $80 per month and I don’t even watch half the channels. My wife’s biggest concern is will the data usage go up. I will do some more digging. Thanks Mike…
Does your ISP throttle or charge for data? Ours is still unlimited and fast as hell for $65/mo and we can stream 2,3 at once and it doesn’t slow down. We have Optimum in CT, their TV is horrific but Internet is stable and fast. I have been on it since day one broadband came to town, about 20 years ago now!

February 23, 2018 at 8:44 pm #516Mike BakerKeymaster
I have been considering this option as well, we do love our live TV though. How is the live TV? What about data usage? Have you noticed your usage increase, if so, how much of an increase? In total, how much did you spend on cutting the cord?
The live TV is AWESOME. The way you navigate it on your mobile and send it to the TV is super intuitive and easy.
I bought 2 Chromecasts @ $35/ea and it’s $35/mo for YoutubeTV. My “cable bill” is still $65/mo because I need my cable modem/high speed internet. You cannot cast with cellular data, you need broadband, wireless in-house.

February 22, 2018 at 9:21 pm #473Mike BakerKeymasterI’d also like to note that YoutubeTV is available on all mobile devices, tablets, desktop PCs and TVs, simultaneously in the same house and that the DVR capability is the best. No limits! No “you ran out of space”.

I can’t get in, why did they make it up to the PC manufacturer? Not sure why I had to even research it, there should just be “the way”! I’ll keep rebooting and hitting random keys 🙂

February 20, 2018 at 12:05 pm #402Mike BakerKeymaster50-60 without a fan or is a fan pretty common these days? It runs 63C-65C on idle, 67-68C when in light use and it can go as high as 75-77 when a game like Star Wars Battlefront is being played. I have HWMonitor installed https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html to keep an eye on it.
I was all proud of my research & installation haha I am becoming interested in building PCs as a hobby, and for introducing my son to it. Gives him a lot of insight to see me inside his PC. I installed a PCI card yesterday that gave him UBB 3.0 ports. He currently only had USB 2. (We have a screen capture/game capture device coming that needed USB 3.0.)
